We completed 3-D seismic acquisition around Wiseton, Mattersey, Misson and Everton within our 139/140 PEDL (Petroleum Exploration Development Licence) in 2013. Following appraisal of the results we identified our first site at Springs Road, which we hope to develop.
Seismic data acquisition is the process of gathering information about the composition of the earth below the surface. This data is acquired through the use of machines that create and then listen for vibrations. Once gathered, the data can be used to create an image of the various layers of rocks and minerals underground.
Once we have identified a well site we then prepare a planning application to be submitted to the local authority, along with a voluntary Environmental Impact Assessment, whilst undertaking a comprehensive community engagement programme in the selected area.
